A versatile plant, doing well in sun to full shade, and damp to dry conditions. Plants form clumps of leaves and strong spikes of dark purple flowers in May and June. They grow to a height of 60-80cm and are good for borders, dry gardens and wilder areas of your garden, where they are form good ground cover. Plants grown from seed occasionally flower in white or lilac.
Geranium phaeum grows best in sun to part shade and moist well drained soil. Plants self-seed moderately.
